SVM Oy is currently seeking an experienced Quotation Specialist for a project-based position, ideally suited for a freelancer or professional looking for non-permanent technical assignments.

SVM Oy provides technical project services in shipbuilding and industrial sectors, especially in Finland and across the EU. Our core services include project management, cost estimation, and comprehensive engineering support for demanding, large-scale projects.

We are now expanding our team with a Quotation Specialist who can take responsibility for pricing and cost evaluation in newbuild cruise ship projects and other industrial assignments.

Job Responsibilities:
As a Quotation Specialist, you will play a key role in the early stages of our projects. Your tasks will include:

• Reviewing and interpreting technical drawings and RFQs
• Performing detailed cost estimations using relevant pricing software and tools
• Preparing complete project quotations, including scope, timelines, unit prices, and assumptions
• Collaborating with design, procurement, and project management teams
• Project scope includes: HVAC systems, piping, steel structures, welding/fitting, interior works, and cleaning/finishing stages

Requirements:

• Relevant technical degree (e.g., in engineering or industrial design)
• At least 5 years of experience in quotation and project evaluation roles within shipbuilding or industrial sectors in Finland and/or EU
• Strong understanding of pricing methods, cost structures, and technical specifications
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple estimation tasks simultaneously
• Fluency in Finnish and English is required
