Our partner has experience of almost 40 years in marine industrial. We are now looking for our collaboration partner a highly motivated, responsible and experienced PURCHASING OFFICER.
The Purchasing Officer shall be responsible to buy products that are essential for the Company’s day-to-day operations. The Purchasing Officer shall review prices and quality and ensure optimal stock levels. The Purchasing Officer’s main responsibilities include evaluating vendors, negotiating contracts, and preparing reports. For this role, the candidate should have good knowledge of market research, along with solid analytical skills to be able to identify the most profitable offers. Ultimately, the Purchasing Officer shall create and maintain good relationships with key suppliers to ensure that the product is of high quality and is delivered on time.
TASKS:
- To research potential vendors, compare and evaluate offers from different suppliers.
- To negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing.
- To track orders and ensure timely delivery.
- To review quality of purchased products.
- To enter order details (such as vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases.
- To maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices.
- To prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses.
- To monitor stock levels and place orders as needed.
- To coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage.
- To attend trade shows and exhibitions to stay up to date with industry trends.
- To facilitate a successful resolution of complaints with suppliers.
- To prepare reports on orders and costs.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Proven work experience as a Purchasing Officer.
- Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors).
- Hands-on experience on purchasing software.
- Understanding of supply chain procedures.
- Solid analytical skills, with the ability to create different reports.
- Negotiation skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A level standard of education.
- Procurement professional qualification is a plus.
- Ability to take own initiative and work in a team environment.
