Our partner has experience of almost 40 years in marine industrial. We are now looking for our collaboration partner a highly motivated, responsible and experienced a skilled Electrical Works Estimator. The chosen candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical installations, maintenance, and overhaul projects related to marine and industrial engines and auxiliary systems.
This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex electrical drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the engineering, service, and sales teams to ensure competitive and precise project estimates.
Key Responsibilities
· Review technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine the scope of electrical works.
· Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, subcontracted services, and equipment.
· Analyse project risks, constraints, and technical challenges to ensure accurate pricing.
· Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQs) and technical proposals.
· Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical information.
· Collaborate with the engineering and service departments to validate feasibility and labour hour estimates.
· Assist the sales team in preparing tenders, quotations, and bid submissions.
· Update cost databases, pricing templates, and documentation in line with company procedures.
· Conduct site visits when required to assess project conditions and gather necessary information.
· Support project managers during project handover with documentation and clarifications.
Required Qualifications & Experience
· Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably within marine, industrial, power generation, or related sectors.
· Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation practices.
· Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single line diagrams, and technical drawings.
· Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and estimating or ERP software.
· Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
· Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
· High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Licensing & Certifications
· A valid B Licence (Electrical Wireman's Licence B) will be considered as an asset.
· Additional certifications in electrical or marine disciplines will be considered an asset.
