Yacht Relations & Business Development Executive, Malta
Our partner has nearly 40 years of experience in the marine industry. We are currently seeking, on behalf of our partner, a highly motivated, responsible, and experienced Yacht Relations & Business Development Executive to represent brand dockside. You will dockwalk targeted superyacht marinas, build trusted relationships with captains, chief engineers and senior crew, and convert conversations into qualified enquiries for chandlery, in-water works and refit projects in Malta.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Dockwalk assigned marinas in Malta and selected Mediterranean hubs, visiting yachts professionally and respectfully.
· Introduce Melita Marine’s shipyard and engineering capabilities; communicate value clearly and credibly.
· Build and maintain relationships with captains, chief engineers, ETOs, pursers and senior deck/interior crew.
· Identify needs and opportunities (repairs, upgrades, refits, provisioning/chandlery); qualify and route leads internally.
· Coordinate follow-up with operations/estimating teams; ensure timely quotations, site visits and technical responses.
· Represent the company at dockside gatherings, broker/captain events and relevant industry networking opportunities.
· Maintain accurate CRM/lead records, visit logs and weekly activity reporting.
· Support marketing with field feedback: competitor insights, seasonal trends, and service gaps.
SUCCESS MEASURES (KPIs)
· Dock visits and meaningful conversations per week (quality over volume).
· Qualified leads generated per month (chandlery, in-water works, refit/dry-dock).
· Quote requests created and progressed; follow-up timeliness and conversion rate.
· Revenue influenced from awarded jobs (tracked against targets).
· CRM accuracy and reporting discipline.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
· Fluent/professional English additional languages such as Italian, French and or Spanish are an advantage.
· Strong interpersonal skills; confident approaching senior decision-makers and building rapport quickly.
· Experience in sales/business development, yacht operations, luxury hospitality, marine services, or a related client-facing role.
· Comfortable working in marina environments and adhering to superyacht etiquette and confidentiality.
· Organised and disciplined: able to manage a pipeline, prioritise follow-ups and report clearly.
· Willing to travel frequently and work flexibly around marina activity, events and yacht schedules.
· Valid passport; clean driving licence required.
