Building on decades of technical expertise and a global service footprint, our partner supports clients through the complete lifecycle of their engines — from commissioning and operation to overhaul, upgrade, and lifecycle extension.
Our partner has experience of almost 40 years in marine industrial. We are now looking for our collaboration partner a highly motivated, responsible and experienced GLOBAL AFTERMARKET ENGINEER.
The Global Aftermarket Market Engineer will lead the worldwide mapping and development of the aftermarket for Melita Power Diesel engines, ensuring global spare-parts and service coverage for every customer in the Commercial Marine, Defense, and Yachting markets.
This individual will also oversee the planning and resource preparation for the in-house remanufacturing program— ensuring Melita Marine Group is fully equipped to produce critical engine components to OEM standards, sustainably and efficiently.
The role combines technical, commercial, and operational leadership to align global demand, supply capability, and strategic expansion.
Key Responsibilities
1. Global Market Intelligence & Mapping
- Conduct detailed research on the global installed base of Melita Power Diesel and MTU Series engines.
- Identify addressable aftermarket opportunities, fleet distributions, service hubs, and potential partners worldwide.
- Quantify global demand for spare parts, services, and remanufactured components.
2. Aftermarket Strategy Development
- Develop and maintain the global aftermarket and spare parts strategy, balancing availability, and efficiency:
- Establish and monitor BOM segmentation (consumables, general, and critical parts).
- Recommend refinements based on fleet data, market investigation, and customer feedback.
3. Concession & Remanufacturing Program Oversight
- Lead the setup and operational readiness of the in-house remanufacturing program under the MTU (Rolls-Royce Solutions) concession.
- Define technical and resource requirements, including:
- Facility layout and workshop infrastructure
- Specialized tooling, calibration equipment, and test benches
- Qualified personnel, training, and certification programs
- Quality control systems aligned with OEM and ISO standards
- Documentation, process control, and traceability systems
- Coordinate with Engineering and Supply Chain teams to ensure full compliance with MTU specifications, quality standards, and audit protocols.
- Develop a production planning and capacity model to meet fleet requirements while maintaining cost efficiency and scalability.
- Support technology transfer and ensure local remanufacturing aligns with sustainability and lifecycle objectives.
4. Partner & Network Development
- Identify, qualify, and manage service and parts partners worldwide.
- Build relationships with shipyards, fleet operators, and defense agencies to align aftermarket offerings with operational needs.
- Support regional distributors and service centers in stocking, training, and technical readiness.
5. Commercial & Technical Coordination
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Commercial teams to synchronize aftermarket operations.
- Provide market data and technical input for pricing strategies, long-term service agreements, and fleet support contracts.
- Support business development teams in proposal preparation for aftermarket and service packages.
6. Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Establish reporting dashboards on global fleet coverage, spare-parts performance, and remanufacturing capacity.
- Use data analytics to optimize global inventory, logistics, and customer response time.
- Propose and implement continuous improvement initiatives across supply, production, and aftermarket support.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Marine, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in aftermarket, service engineering, or remanufacturing within the marine, defense, or heavy-equipment sectors.
- Experience working with diesel engine systems, ideally MTU or equivalent propulsion platforms.
- Proven ability to plan and implement technical manufacturing or remanufacturing projects.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of aftermarket economics.
- Excellent analytical, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Autonomous, self-driven, and capable of working remotely with international coordination.
- Willingness to travel globally (30–50%) to customer sites, partners, and production facilities.
