Our partner has experience of almost 40 years in marine industry. We are now looking for our collaboration partner a highly motivated, responsible and experienced Senior Carpenter to lead a team of carpenters in delivering high-quality craftsmanship. 

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise a team of 3-4 employees in construction and repair projects. 

• Oversee the quality of work to ensure compliance with safety and industry standards. 

• Collaborate with project managers and other departments to plan and execute projects effectively. 

• Train and mentor junior carpenters and upholsterers, fostering skill development and teamwork.  

• Managing materials and resources for carpentry and upholstery projects, to maximize efficiency and minimize waste. 

• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate project execution. 

• Prepare quotations and estimates for upcoming projects and find new ways to increase efficiency 

• Evaluate project progress and adjust schedules as necessary to meet deadlines. 

Required Profile

• Proven experience as a carpenter with experience in a senior or supervisory role. 

• Experience working on teak decks

• Upholstery experience ideal although not essential 

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively. 

• Proficient in all aspects of carpentry and ideally upholstery, including using hand and power tools. 

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. 

• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in the shipbuilding industry.
